Lawrence Taylor's rape arrest costs Giants legend Nutrisystem deal

Nutrisystem, the online weight loss company, shed 230-pound ex-Giants great Lawrence Taylor Friday, a day after his arrest on charges of raping a teenaged Bronx runaway.

"Based on the severity of these allegations, Nutrisystem has made the decision to sever our relationship with Mr. Taylor effective immediately," a spokesman for the the Horsham, Pa.-based company told TMZ.

The company said it was "shocked and saddened" by the allegations.

Nutrisystem quickly replaced Taylor's image on their website with San Diego Padres star Matt Stairs.

In the latest off-field fiasco for the Hall of Fame linebacker, Taylor, 51, was charged Thursday with raping a 16-year-old girl in a Rockland County hotel room.

Town of Ramapo police said the teen victim was a runaway forceably brought to a hotel where Taylor was staying in Suffern, about 40 miles north of the city.

A used condom reportedly was found in the room.

Taylor, charged with third-degree rape, which involves sexual intercourse with a minor, faces a maximum sentence of four years behind bars if convicted.
He also was charged with patronizing a prostitute in the third degree, which carries a maximum one-year sentence.

Taylor did not file a plea at his arraignment Thursday. A judge set bail at $75,000.

The Hall of Famer was allowd to return to his home in Florida pending a June 10 court date.

Heidi Klum's Body-After-Baby Plan? Take It Easy

Sure, Heidi Klum knows what to do to get back in to shape fast after having a baby. She even walked the runway for the Victoria's Secret fashion show less than two months after having son Henry in 2005.

But this year, the supermodel told PEOPLE last month, she's taking it easy.

"I don't know if I'm going to try to get ready for the show," Klum, 36, told PEOPLE before the arrival of her and husband Seal's daughter Lou on Sept. 9. "I'm going totally play it by ear and see what happens."

The supermodel, who said she continued eating a clean diet light on carbs throughout her pregnancy, joins fellow Victoria's Secret angels Karolina Kurkova and Adriana Lima, who are also expecting, on the sidelines this year. The show takes place in New York City in November.

And though she has been known to turn it around quickly, even putting in twice daily workouts with trainer David Kirsch to lose the weight in 2005, Klum says there's no pressure to get ready this time around.

Tori Spelling Was Worried About Raising a Girl

Her relationship with mom Candy has been rocky at times – and Tori Spelling says that dynamic concerned her when it came to raising her own daughter, Stella.

"My biggest fear in life was having a girl," Spelling, 35, tells Cookie Magazine for its June issue, which she celebrated Wednesday during a bash at the Kitson in Los Angeles with her family. "How was I going to handle a girl?"

But, now she knows she didn't have to worry.

"It turns out that Stella is a total mama's girl," she says of her 11-month-old. "For all my fears, without my even trying, Stella wants her mama. When she is in [husband] Dean's arms, she lunges for me the way Liam did for him."

Another challenge after becoming a mom for the second time, Spelling says, was how to deal with the public attention over her post-pregnancy body.

"After I'd given birth to Stella, some woman at the market grabbed my belly and asked when I was due," she says. "When she had the flab in her hand, she realized her mistake. And the first time I went out after I had Liam, the paparazzi were around and I remember trying to hold my stomach in, even though my muscles were shot to hell."

But it was not just the press who was interested in her body. "During both pregnancies, people touched my belly a lot," Spelling says. "I would never do that to a pregnant woman – it's a personal thing. And if I did, I'd say, 'Your belly is so cute, can I touch it?' "

But the actress says she came to accept (and appreciate) the attention, actually. "At a certain point, " she says, "I just decided that Stella was getting a lot of love in there."

Katie Price and Peter Andre’s split all a publicity stunt?

About two weeks ago, Katie Price started to talk about making a ‘massive comeback’.

She felt anxious, she confided, because she thought that she was simply not earning enough. Indeed, she had dyed her hair a plain brown because she said she was ‘fed up’ with paying to have her highlights attended to.

Gary Cockerill, her great friend and regular make-up artist, was told that she was reducing his hours because she was feeling the pinch.

Even her mother Amy could not cheer her up - Katie was in a miserable humour. But having been in America for months, paying rent on a house in Malibu but not earning any money, she felt broke and forgotten, and fretted that she had been eclipsed by Jade Goody.

And there is nothing which annoys Katie (who has built up a £30million fortune) more than the threat of obscurity.

A source who spent time with her during this period recalls that she was grumbling about the ‘thunder thighs’ she had built up training for the London Marathon, and was even more bad tempered than usual with her husband Peter Andre.

Katie told the source that she was going to reinvent herself in some spectacular way - which she did not specify - and confided that she was going on one of her juice-only detox diets to try to shed a stone to be ready for the blaze of publicity she was about to attract.

These are the sort of meanderings to which the 30-year-old former glamour model is prone, and nobody took much notice, as she often talks about wanting to be the nation’s biggest star again.

Patrick Swayze is a shadow of his former self

Patrick Swayze is a shadow of his former self as cancer takes its toll

Frail: Actor Patrick Swayze was seen in Los Angeles looking startlingly frail, having lost weight and his hair as cancer takes its toll on the Ghost star

Patrick Swayze's pancreatic cancer is clearly exacting a heavy toll on the ailing star.

A rail thin Swayze, now virtually bald having lost his hair as a result of treatment, looked a shadow of his former self during an outing in Los Angeles.

With his clothes hanging from his reduced frame, the actor was barely recognisable as he walked to his car.

The 56-year-old edged along the roadside, gripping hold of a nearby post for support as his brother Don waited in a car park to take him to an appointment.

US magazine The National Enquirer said the Dirty Dancing star's weight had dropped to just 7st 5lbs (47.6 kilos).

However friend and actress Whoopi Goldberg said: 'You know what, he’s doing what everybody else is doing, he’s taking it one day at a time.

'He does not have an expiration date on his backside - none of us do we just know at some point it’s going to happen and that’s how he’s looking at it,' she added.

A year on from being diagnosed with late-stage pancreatic cancer, Swayze recently admitted that he may have only two years to live.

article-1170249-04640f24000005dc-786_224x475article-1170249-04640f44000005dc-697_224x475
Support: Frail Swayze, who is reported to weight just 7st 5lb, held onto a post for support as he made his way to his car

In his first TV interview since being diagnosed, the Dirty Dancing star told U.S. TV host Barbara Walters that he was 'scared and angry' and had been 'going through hell'.

Swayze said: 'Five years is pretty wishful thinking.

'Two years seems likely if you're going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I'd better get a fire under it.'

Swayze's public appearance came as the fate of his television show The Beast remains uncertain.

The Ghost star went public with his illness a year ago. Soon after he signed on to shoot television show The Beast on location in Chicago.

Swayze threw himself into the physically demanding role of Barker, an undercover agent teamed up with rookie Ellis Dove (played by Travis Fimmel).

Despite the 12-hour-day shooting schedule, he worked without painkillers, taking chemotherapy at weekends.

Golden years: Swayze hit the big time in 1987 when he starred as a dance instructor in 'Dirty Dancing'

But it has attracted low ratings and is unlikely to return for a second season. A show source said Swayze's rapidly declining health would be a deciding factor.

The series arrived on a wave of publicity mainly driven by the grim prognosis and exaggerated accounts that he was near death.

'As has been the case from day one, it is all about Patrick — in a lot of ways, said a show source.

'It is about his condition, and when and whether he would be up for another gruelling production schedule.'

The actor has been married to wife and former dancer Lisa Niemi, 53, for 33 years.

Jade Goody's mother 'overwhelmed' as fans line star's street with floral tributes

Scores of well-wishers lay flowers outside Jade Goody's home today in a public outpouring of grief for the reality star.

Jade's devastated mother Jackiey Budden took comfort in the tributes to her daughter, who died following a public battle with cervical cancer in the early hours of Sunday morning.

'Her response to all this would be the same as mine - overwhelmed,' said Ms Budden.

'It just shows how many people really did love her.'

The 27-year-old's funeral will take place at a church near her home early next month, a family spokesman said tonight.

She will be buried following a service at a church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, on April 4, the spokesman said.

The service will be the 'Jade Goody Production' the reality star meticulously planned before her death.

She spent the last few weeks of her life telling family members exactly what she wanted at the sad event.

The tragic Big Brother star's publicist Max Clifford said: 'Jade wanted a celebration of her life. It will be very much a Jade Goody production with Jade doing her own thing her own way.'

However, her widower Jack Tweed could miss out on saying a final goodbye to his wife of four weeks as he faces up to the prospect of a jail sentence.

Chris Brown Withdraws from Kids' Choice Awards

One choice the fans won't have at the Kids' Choice Awards on March 28? Voting for Chris Brown.

Amid the controversy about Brown's nominations at the fun-loving show – the R&B singer who has been charged with assault and making criminal threats against his girlfriend Rihanna – has decided to withdraw his name from consideration, his spokesperson announced Wednesday.

"Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song," says the statement. "Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated. While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so."

As of Tuesday, an online petition had received more than 5,200 signatures from fans asking that both Brown and Rihanna be removed from the list of nominations.

On Tuesday, Nickelodeon issued a statement saying Brown would remain on the ballot in his categories. But after he withdrew his name from consideration on Wednesday, the channel said they "respect" his decision.

"We are confirming that Chris Brown has decided to withdraw his nominations from the Kids' Choice Awards," says the statement. "We agree with and respect his decision, and are looking forward to presenting a great event for our audience."

The Kids' Choice Awards will air on Nickelodon on March 28.

Madonna Denies Reports of a $76-Million Divorce Settlement

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are slamming recent stories about their divorce settlement.

The joint statement – issued in London – came two days after Madonna's U.S. rep gave the Associated Press details of the supposed deal. Liz Rosenberg said that Madonna, 50, was set to hand over cash and property worth between $76 million and $92 million, calling it "one of the largest [divorce] payouts ever."

But now the couple calls that information "misleading and inaccurate."

The statement reads:

"We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest.

"A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week.

"The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement.

"Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children."

The couple – whose divorce will become final in January – have two sons, Rocco, 8, David, 3. Madonna has a daughter, Lourdes, 12, from her relationship with Carlos Leon.

Diddy Throws Private Birthday Bash for Kim Porter

Diddy and Kim Porter have had a longtime on-again off-again romance – but the pair celebrated in style together when the music mogul threw an intimate birthday bash for her in West Hollywood Monday.

Nearly 30 guests, including Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery, co-star Sara Ramirez and reality TV's Lisa Gastineau, gathered at Murano Restaurant & Lounge to celebrate Porter's 38th birthday.

Porter – the mother of Diddy's nearly 2-year-old twin girls and 10-year-old son – arrived fashionably late to the restaurant, which was filled festive with red balloons and streamers. The night's soundtrack was a mix of old school 70s R&B prepared by Murano owner Sandy Sachs.

At one point in the evening, a guest tells people, "The group serenaded Kim to Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday," and then they presented her with a cake."

While Diddy stuck to ginger ale at the party, the other guests sipped on a specialty lemon drop martini made with Ciroc vodka designed for the occasion. A four course tasting menu created by Executive Chef Luciano Sautto was served.

And the group had the whole place to themselves: Although the restaurant is usually closed on Monday, it was open just for the private party, which started at 8:30 p.m. and ended after midnight.

Oprah Winfrey Admits to Tipping the Scales at 200 Lbs

Having packed 40 pounds onto her former 160-pound self, Oprah Winfrey is declaring, "I'm mad at myself" because she's "fallen off the wagon."

As the media mogul, 54, writes in the January issue of her O magazine hitting newsstands Tuesday (and provided in advance to the Associated Press by Winfrey's Harpo Productions): "I'm embarrassed … I can't believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I'm still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, 'How did I let this happen again?' "

For starters, the fact that her thyroid was out-of-balance gave her "a fear of working out," she says. "I was so frustrated I started eating whatever I wanted – and that's never good."

Having slimmed down to 160 in 2006, she admits, "Yes, you're adding correctly. That means the dreaded 2-0-0."

Past Diets

Winfrey memorably revealed her new look on her show in 1988 – by wheeling out a wagon loaded with fat to represent the 67 pounds she had shed. On that episode, she sported a pair of size 10 Calvin Klein jeans.

"My greatest failure was in believing that the weight issue was just about the weight," Winfrey told people in 1991. "It's about not handling stress properly."

But when it came to slipping into those jeans, "I had literally starved myself for four months [on a liquid-protein diet] – not a morsel of food," Winfrey, an admitted food addict, said in 2005. "Two hours after that show, I started eating to celebrate – of course, within two days those jeans no longer fit!"

Winfrey's weight has long been a topic on her show – and even for late-night hosts. In 1990, she hit 237 pounds, eventually prompting her in 1996 to enlist personal trainer Bob Greene. At the time, she said she had wanted to bring an end to her roller-coaster weight saga.

'Felt Like a Fat Cow'

Choosing a gown for the Barack Obama inauguration coming up in January, however, made Winfrey realize her self-image was no longer jibed with the person standing on the scales – though the real low point occurred last April.

"I felt like a fat cow," Winfrey writes of the occasion when she sought to skip out on a Las Vegas show taping with Cher and Tina Turner. "I wanted to disappear."

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Winfrey's weight and height rank her as obese, with a body mass index of 31.8 – putting her at "at higher risk for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol," says the CDC.

Winfrey intends to address the issue on The Oprah Winfrey Show, which will kick off Best Life Week Jan. 5.

She is also expected to discuss her weight that same day on her XM satellite radio station's The Gayle King Show. Winfrey will also host interactive live Web casts at Oprah.com the week of Jan. 12 to 16, nightly at 9 p.m. ET.
