LCD TVs & Plasma TVs

About LCD TVs & Plasma TVs

It is often debated whether LCD TV’s are better than Plasma TV’s. As more and more of us are purchasing these two types of TV then this is a debate that is worth settling. Both of these two TVs represent two competing technologies that have similar features including crystal clear images and vibrant colour displays. In spite of their apparent similarities, the technologies of both Plasma and LCD TVs are very different. The five main differences between Plasma and LCD TVs are:• TechnologyPlasma TV and LCD panels are very much similar in that both TVs have a thin flat screen. Plasma TV makes use of a matrix of small gas plasma cells that are charged by precise electrical voltage to make a picture.

While LCD TV has two glass plates with liquid crystal pushed in between the plates. Different images are created by varying the amount of electrical charge applied to the liquid crystal.• Picture QualityThere are a lot of differences between Plasma and LCD TV screens. It has often been said that plasma screens have a slight advantage over LCD screens. The reason behind this is that plasma screens display black tones more accurately than LCD TVs, thus, providing better contrast and detailed image display. Comparatively in LCD TV, where a backlight shines through the LCD layer it much harder to get true blacks as there is light leakage between the pixels.•

Advantages of Plasma over LCD Plasma TV has better viewing angles than LCD TV because with LCD TV there is sometimes a brightness or colour shift that can be seen when you are too far away from the TV. On the other hand, with plasma TVs the picture quality is solid. The plasma TV can also produce brighter colours due to the effect of its colour saturation due to light leakage.• Image BlurringAnother advantage that plasma enthusiasts advocate is that the LCD screens have a tendency to blur images especially in scenes that depict motion or moving scenes.• Native Resolution LCD TVs have higher native resolution than plasma TVs of same size as they have more pixels on the screen.

If you want to see every pixel of a high resolution picture and want a true high definition experience then LCD TV should be your choice.Pyramid provides a wide range of electrical products including electronic entertainment devices, computer components, PC peripherals, network accessories and home entertainment accessories.

Video has surfaced showing the 24-year-old soul diva getting into a scuffle with a concergoer during her performance at Britain’s Glastonbury music festival on Saturday. The Grammy-winning singer appears to jab her elbow at the crowd while singing “Rehab” in the mosh pit. Seconds later, Winehouse angrily throws a couple punches. Asked about the incident, Winehouse’s rep said, “The ‘lashing out’ was when someone tried to grab her hair and she reacted.” What do you think? Did a fan get too close or did Amy make the first move?

Bret Michaels: I Still Love Ambre Lake

Poison frontman Bret Michaels will be looking for Miss Right again when VH1’s Rock of Love Bus starts shooting next month, but future contestants be warned: he’s still not over season 2 winner Ambre Lake. “I still love her,” Michaels told people on his luxury tour bus Tuesday night moments before stepping onstage at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. “I’m not really over her yet. We still hang. She was just out with me a couple days ago and we were having a great time. She’s really got it. I think she’s great.” Season 1 winner Jessica Rickleff dumped the rocker soon after the show ended. In April, Michaels thought he had found love again in 37-year-old Lake. But in July, people reported that they broke up because of their conflicting work schedules. “The reason for destruction of all my relationships is that I’m passionate about being on the road and making music,” he says. “I have great relationships. But the women I date don’t realize that I spend between 6 and ...
