Britney's father retains control

Britney's father retains control of her assets until Feb 14 hearing

A US Judge ruled Monday that Jamie Spears will keep control of his daughter's financial and personal affairs until a psychiatric report is assessed on February 14 during a further court hearing

The father of troubled Britney Spears will retain control of her financial and personal affairs until a psychiatric report is assessed on February 14, a US judge ruled on Monday.

Following Britney's hospitalisation last week, James Spears was granted conservatorship - which allows him to make decisions involving the singer's assets and ban people from contacting her. The measure is taken by US courts when it is deemed someone is incapable of caring themselves or cannot handle their own affairs.

The singer, who is currently receiving treatment in an LA medical centre, will be evaluated by a physician before the case is examined again

A physician has been appointed to evaluate Britney's progress. The doctor's report will be examined during the Valentine's Day court hearing, and the conservatorship case will be reassessed.

Mr Spears' attorney stresses that his client's number one priority is to help his daughter get well again. "He's not here to take over her assets; he's here to get her medical help," says the legal representative. "He's here to take over while she's healing."

Don’t Mess With the Winehouse?

Fans, beware. Here comes Amy Winehouse’s latest hit. Video has surfaced showing the 24-year-old soul diva getting into a scuffle with a concergoer during her performance at Britain’s Glastonbury music festival on Saturday. The Grammy-winning singer appears to jab her elbow at the crowd while singing “Rehab” in the mosh pit. Seconds later, Winehouse angrily throws a couple punches. Asked about the incident, Winehouse’s rep said, “The ‘lashing out’ was when someone tried to grab her hair and she reacted.” What do you think? Did a fan get too close or did Amy make the first move?

Bret Michaels: I Still Love Ambre Lake

Poison frontman Bret Michaels will be looking for Miss Right again when VH1’s Rock of Love Bus starts shooting next month, but future contestants be warned: he’s still not over season 2 winner Ambre Lake. “I still love her,” Michaels told people on his luxury tour bus Tuesday night moments before stepping onstage at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. “I’m not really over her yet. We still hang. She was just out with me a couple days ago and we were having a great time. She’s really got it. I think she’s great.” Season 1 winner Jessica Rickleff dumped the rocker soon after the show ended. In April, Michaels thought he had found love again in 37-year-old Lake. But in July, people reported that they broke up because of their conflicting work schedules. “The reason for destruction of all my relationships is that I’m passionate about being on the road and making music,” he says. “I have great relationships. But the women I date don’t realize that I spend between 6 and ...
