Police Have Murder Weapon in Jennifer Hudson Case

A handgun found near the body of Jennifer Hudson's nephew is the same one used in the killings of the Oscar winner's family, according to a report.

On Wednesday, officers found a .45-caliber handgun among thick weeds in an alley about a block from where 7-year-old Julian King was discovered shot to death inside a Chevy Suburban.

The gun was sent to the Illinois State Police crime lab for testing. Unfired bullets in the gun matched shell casings recovered at the house where Hudson's mother Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother Jason Hudson, 29, were discovered murdered, sources tell the Chicago Tribune.

King was taken from the home and his body was discovered three days later in a neighborhood in another part of town, also shot with a .45, according to the paper.

Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond could not be reached for comment Friday.

The estranged husband of Jennifer Hudson's sister, Julia Hudson, is being held as a "person of interest" in the case. William Balfour, 27, is currently being held on an alleged parole violation stemming from his 1999 conviction on attempted murder and carjacking.

Inside Madonna's 50th Birthday Bash

Fifty has never looked so fabulous! Madonna celebrated her 50th birthday Saturday at a trendy London club Volstead. "It was a small party," a source confirms to people. "A private event for her close family and friends. It was low key." And despite lingering rumors of marital strife, the elaborate bash was organized by her husband Guy Ritchie. "She looks better now than she ever has done," her director husband told the 90 gathered guests, according to Britain's The Sun. "I'm so proud. I love her so much." Highlights of the evening, which had people dancing til 3 a.m. included Madonna's daughter Lourdes serenading her on the piano and illusionist David Blaine performing card tricks. Later, as the deejay blasted the singer's greatest hits, she hit the dancefloor with Lourdes and sons Rocco and David. But it was back to business Sunday morning, when the pop star was spotted heading to the gym for her usual daily worko...

Bret Michaels: I Still Love Ambre Lake

Poison frontman Bret Michaels will be looking for Miss Right again when VH1’s Rock of Love Bus starts shooting next month, but future contestants be warned: he’s still not over season 2 winner Ambre Lake. “I still love her,” Michaels told people on his luxury tour bus Tuesday night moments before stepping onstage at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. “I’m not really over her yet. We still hang. She was just out with me a couple days ago and we were having a great time. She’s really got it. I think she’s great.” Season 1 winner Jessica Rickleff dumped the rocker soon after the show ended. In April, Michaels thought he had found love again in 37-year-old Lake. But in July, people reported that they broke up because of their conflicting work schedules. “The reason for destruction of all my relationships is that I’m passionate about being on the road and making music,” he says. “I have great relationships. But the women I date don’t realize that I spend between 6 and ...

Kanye West: 'I'm Cool with the Paparazzi'

Just one day after Kanye West's Thursday arrest at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of vandalism, he has a message for fans. "I'm cool with the paparazzi," the rapper – who was arrested with his road manager at LAX after allegedly causing damage to camera equipment worth more than $10,000 – wrote on his blog Friday morning. "This guy wasn't cool," West wrote, referring to one of the lensmen allegedly involved in the incident. "I gotta work now ... I'll rant later!" In the meantime, West's tone seemed pretty casual about the whole thing – even though in video footage of the incident, West and his road manager were seen wresting a camera away from a photographer and smashing it into the ground. "We back in the lab now!!!" wrote the rapper, who's returned to work on his album. Right after being released by the LAPD, he left on a private jet from Van Nuys to Honolulu, where he's working on his next album at A...
